Brennan, Seymour, Panetta, Huggins Sign ECHL Contracts Entering Preseason

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro Gargoyles, proud ECHL affiliate of the defending Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes and the AHL’s Chicago Wolves, announced four signings as the team prepares to open training camp on Monday. Goaltender Tyler Brennan, forwards Jack Seymour and Daniel Panetta, and defenseman Bryan Huggins have signed ECHL contracts for the 2026-27 season.
Brennan, 23, has spent the last three seasons in the New Jersey Devils organization on an NHL entry-level contract. The 6-foot-4 native of Winnipeg, MB, was selected 102nd overall by the Devils in the fourth round of the 2022 NHL Draft. Brennan has made 70 ECHL appearances with the Adirondack Thunder, posting a 27-32-7 record with a 3.20 goals-against average and .889 save percentage. Prior to turning professional, Brennan spent five seasons in the WHL with the Prince George Cougars, appearing in 96 games.
Seymour, 25, finished the 2025-26 season in Greensboro after completing his fourth NCAA season at Holy Cross, where he served as captain. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward from Chelsea, QC, appeared in 14 ECHL games with the Gargoyles and recorded two points (1G, 1A), scoring his first professional goal on March 21 against the Norfolk Admirals. In four seasons at Holy Cross, Seymour recorded 52 points (22G, 30A) in 117 games. Prior to his collegiate career, he played prep hockey at Tilton School and two seasons in the AJHL with the Brooks Bandits before concluding the 2021-22 season in the BCHL, appearing in 24 games with the Chilliwack Chiefs.
Panetta, 25, also made his professional debut in the ECHL last season following four seasons at Colgate University. The 5-foot-7, 174-pound forward appeared in 12 games with the Jacksonville Icemen, recording two points (1G, 1A). Panetta played 132 NCAA games with the Raiders, finishing his collegiate career with 65 points (31G, 34A). A native of Belleville, ON, Panetta developed over three seasons in the OJHL with the Wellington Dukes before playing in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Huggins, 24, joined the Gargoyles for Greensboro’s final weekend of the 2025-26 season, signing a Standard Player Contract (SPC) for the final three games. Huggins made an immediate impact in his professional debut on April 4, recording two assists and a +3 rating against Norfolk. The 5-foot-11, 181-pound defenseman from Grand Rapids, MI, finished his senior season at Lake Superior State with seven points (1G, 6A). Over 125 career NCAA Division I games, Huggins recorded 18 points (2G, 16A) from the Lakers’ blue line. Prior to college, Huggins played two seasons in the NAHL with the Austin Bruins and Kenai River Brown Bears, while also seeing action in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks and Fargo Force.

Defensemen: Artyom Borshyov, Braden Doyle, Austen May, Cullen Ferguson, Oskars Briedis, Tristan De Jong, Tyler Paquette, Caleb Price, Bryan Huggins
Goaltenders: Tyler Brennan
